1. When is the Visa Office open to the public?

3. How much does a visa cost?

THE VISA PROCESSING FEE IS DUE UPON PRESENTING AN APPLICATION FOR A VISA AND CANNOT BE REIMBURSED EVEN IF THE VISA REQUEST IS DENIED
Please note:
There is NO FEE FOR STUDENT VISA and US family members of US military in mission.
Either a cashier's check or money order, payable to Consulate General of Italy, in the exact amount or cash are accepted. Personal checks are NOT accepted.
4. If I am going to study in Italy for less than 90 days, do I still need a visa?
Yes, even if you are going to study for a short stay, less than 90 days, you must still apply for a student visa.
5. Who can apply for a visa at the Italian Consulate General in Philadelphia?
The Consulate General of Italy in Philadelphia can process visa applications for legal residents in its district ONLY, which includes the following States: Pennsylvania, Delaware, North Carolina, West Virginia, New Jersey (only the following counties: Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester, Ocean and Salem. The remaining counties are under the jurisdiciton of the Consulate in Newark), Maryland (except for the counties of Montgomery and Prince George which fall under the jurisdiction of the consular section of the Italian Embassy in Washington, DC) and Virginia (except for the counties of Arlington and Fairfax which are also under the consular section of the Italian Embassy in Washington, DC). Students studying full-time at a University located in the consular district of the Consulate General of Philadelphia may also apply at this Office.
Only holders of one of the following documents may apply for a visa:
• U.S. Passport;
• U.S. Permanent Resident Card (formerly Green Card), foreign students holding valid visas and valid I-20, exchange visitors holding valid visas and I-66;
• Valid long term visas except B1/B2.
